At the time, most small businesses were still using email campaigns that were only optimized for desktop clients. Major email marketing platforms were just starting to implement mobile breakpoints for their own email templates. There was clearly a need in the market for mobile templates across different platforms (i.e. ActiveCampaign, Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp, etc.).
A responsive email template was developed to meet the need for a responsive framework. The template was ready to use in Mailchimp and Campaign Monitor and It included instructions on how to install it in each platform. As various platforms put a greater emphasis on mobile-first, the need for an external template became somewhat obsolete, unless the client requires a truly custom look for their brand.
